ABOUT

Hi, I’m Ellen. Thank you for stopping by my page.

I was introduced to yoga during college, but it wasn't until the late '90s that I began to practice consistently. By the end of 2003, I took the leap toward becoming a yoga teacher. I vividly remember our first training session and felt like I belonged there. I knew deep down that it was the right place for me, and it was the beginning of my journey as a teacher. Since then, I have incorporated various styles of yoga into the group classes I lead, allowing me to refine and evolve my teaching style.

I loved every bit of this dive beyond the physical aspects and into the subtle energetics of yoga. You'll find a lot of yoga philosophy woven into my classes while exploring stillness and movement. I'm known for using clarity when cueing a pose and utilizing every prop in the room to help students transform, connect, and better understand their anatomy and variations of the postures. All while enjoying a bit of humor along the way.

IF YOU ARE ANYTHING LIKE ME, YOU ENJOY A BIT OF VARIETY IN YOUR PRACTICE.

The classes meet you where you are, facilitate personal exploration and offer time to be curious with yourself. I frequently use props to enhance an action or support your yoga experience, and I encourage developing inner awareness as a guide during yoga sessions.

ALIGNED FLOW:

An interactive mix of fluid movement, active alignment and attention to the breath.  Each week our sequence revolves around  re-educating the body to maintain the actions needed to dive into a specific posture or group of postures.

YIN YOGA:

Experience the long, slow, holds of Yin Yoga to unwind your tension, awaken your connective tissue and discover a practice that gives you the time to dive within.

YIN AND YANG:

Sometimes we just want a bit of both.  In this Yin to Yang class we start out low to the ground and work our way into a slow flow with a breath focus.

RESTORATIVE YOGA:

This class is the Friday of the Yoga world… the one you wait for all week. Relax and enjoy the ride.

BACK TO BASICS: Alignment Focus

Looking to start a practice OR want to learn more about alignment for your body within the postures?  This is the series for you.  Learn the fundamentals and create a foundation for your practice. The series is offered a few times a year and will be online soon.

SO HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY?

Need an energy boost? How about an inversion class to increase vitality?  Or are too many things going on at once and you need to settle your thoughts? Try a Yin or Restorative class.
